so we're running low on the liquid hand soap in the bathroom, and so nothing was coming out when mimi was pumping it. you know how they just never make the pump tube reach all the way to the bottom of the bottle, so you have this excess of unreachable liquid soap. mimi says to me, mom, look we have to throw it out and get some new soap. nothing is coming out!
wordlessly, i take the pump off the bottle, add in a little bit of water, swish it around, and replace the pump. and say, okay now try it.
mimi pumps and soap comes out. wow! mom? did you make more soap?
yeah, i say, pretty cool, hunh?
the next day, i come into the bathroom and when i go to wash my hands i see that the soap bottle has been filled all the way to the top with more water. aye ya ya! i pump some out and can barely work up a lather, it's so diluted. it's like slippery water that smells nice and little else. i have to be careful how i present things to mimi. she's probably out there now, patting herself on the back for having created soooo much more soap for me.
