The Little ImKids

ozzy's new favorite show is Disney's Little Einsteins.  he watches the dvds in the car every day.  while walking to our car from preschool camp, he said he couldnt wait to watch the Little Einsteins.  so to be funny i started singing the theme song but changed the words to minivan instead of rocketship and ImKids instead of Einsteins.  ozzy thought that was the best thing since trains with faces, and kept singing it over and over. today, i find him on the keyboard, singing the Disney's Little Einsteins theme song with our adjustments and piano accompaniment.  here's what he's saying: We're going on a trip in our favorite minivan (instead of rocket ship) Zooming thru the streets Little ImKids We're going on a mission start the countdown 5...4...3-2-1! Everyone to minivan rev it up now Rrrrrrrrrrrrr! We're going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship, er, minivan Zooming thru the street Little ImKids Climb aboard get ready ...

Smooth Operator

i shake my head when i think about how Ozzy seems to know just what to say to either melt my heart or make me laugh.  when my mom came to visit, ozzy greeted her at the door, throwing his hands up to the sides up his face, and squatting slightly in a repose of delighted surprise, and exclaims, "Grandma!  I'm SO happy to see you!"  when i dropped him off at preschool this morning he asks tentatively, "mommy, will you stay with me?"  i told him i was very sorry but i had to go clean up the basement, but i'd be back very soon to pick him up.  and he answers bracingly, "okay, mommy.  i'll be a very good boy until you get back."  and when i come to pick him up from preschool, his sweet face brightens up with a big happy smile and he comes running at me at mach speed, throws himself into my waiting hug and says, "I missed you so much!  I love you so much!"  to mimi, when she's ignoring him b/c she's too engrossed in a book o...

Ozzy is THREE!!!

yesterday, as i watched my son, splashing and playing with his friends at the pool, it was hard to believe he was three years old that day.  even in the space on one night, from his last day as a two year old, to his first day as a three year old, he seemed to have matured even more.  he woke up and assembled a complex train track, then quickly put together a huge floor sized train puzzle that heretofore he needed help with or grew frustrated trying to complete himself, and he corrected his grandpa when he was asked if he was two, saying, "no!  i'm THREE!"  i love that he is growing into such a big boy, but i'm so sad to see the darling baby boy disappearing. i keep cuddling him as much as i can, feeling these days slipping so quickly away.   Ozzy, two days before his 3rd birthday!  we just got back from the grocery store, hence the "thank you" stickers! originally, i had planned to celebrate ozzy's 3rd birthday with a small party at home, inviting no ...

visiting eemo woo

we set out for indianapolis to visit my sister woo and BIL hunter soon after school let out for the summer.  while my parents had been to see my sister after she and hunter moved out there 4 years ago, DH, the kids and i had not yet been out there...not for lack of wanting to, just finding the right time to go had been difficult.  so we finally got some dates on the calendar, and made plans to visit.  my parents drove up from hampton, stayed the night at our house, and early the next morning, we loaded up the odyssey with luggage, toys, a stroller, and a cooler full of snacks, bottles of water, juice/milk, and mom's homemade kimchee .  DH stayed behind a few days b/c of work, but the kids, my parents, and i headed out early monday morning.  (DH would fly in, closer to the weekend.) the decision to drive to indianapolis rather than fly was based on a couple of factors.  while it is much much faster to fly there, this was to be the first real road trip fo...
