mimi says

while driving in the car today after her dentist appointment, mimi was trying to open up her prize for being a good patient. it was in one of those plastic bulbs that toys come in from the coin vending machines. meanwhile i'm thinking about what movie we should get for mimi to watch in the car during the long drive down to hampton to visit my folks this weekend. i say, "mimi what movie do you want to get from blockbuster? how about Bolt? you havent seen that one yet. do you want to see it? mimi? i'm talking to you. do you want to see Bolt? are you listening?" an exasperated, semi-strangled mimi voice comes from the back, "i can't talk about this right now! i'm ehhhhh ! trying to open this prize! whew! there. NOW what do you want!" ------------------------------------------------ whenever mimi comes buggin' me with one of her many questions and comments, i'm usually on the phone or in the middle of a thought, that please, lord le...

mimi says

i was trying to explain to mimi why i needed to stop ozzy from throwing things off his food tray because she was chastising me for getting on his case, saying, mom he's just a baby, he doesnt know. i told her i had to nip it in the bud and teach him some good table manners. she says, "Nip it in the butt? THAT doesnt make ANY sense!"

Mimi Says

while i was bathing mimi today she told me that she never ever wanted to grow up, that she liked being her size and wished she could always stay little. then she says, "i guess i should stop eating so i stop growing.' then sighs deeply, "but... i'll be so hungry !" then she asks me if she can always live with me, no matter how big she gets because she loves me so much she cant bear the thought of ever leaving me. sure, i tell her, you can stay with mommy as long as you want. then she says, 'thanks, mom. and when i have kids can they live here too?" yes, i say. 'well, i'm worried. i'm worried that your ears might hurt whenever i yell at my kids.'

ozzy is 10 months old

it's amazing to me to see how quickly ozzy is progressing. i recall this time in mimi's life, often questioning, when is she going to reach the next milestone? with ozzy, i dont even have time to think of the next milestone, let alone wonder when it will be reached, before he seems to reach it! of course even before ozzy was born i had promised myself to take it slow, dont rush him, enjoy the moments because i will have no more babies...guess he didnt get the memo. it figures, doesnt it? ozzy is walking so well. he walks most of the time now, and reserves the crawling for times when he's sitting on the floor and something is just a tad out of reach, he'll just crawl to it then. or if he needs to get under something...like the kitchen table...but once he's under it, he stands up and then tries to walk out from under there, not realizing that he cant just walk out past the lip around the bottom edge of the table. he keeps walking forward, smacking his head, and the...

Mimi's Ballet

i dont know why it's been so hard to find time to update the blog. i would have thought i would be less busy with one less kid! i forgot to write that mimi went to Disney World with her grandparents (she returns late friday night). i spent the greater portion of my time, from the day after finishing a cake for a close friend until mimi left at 6:45 AM to go to the airport on sunday, reading books and websites, quizzing people for tips, and then creating touring guides for each day of their stay at Disney. so it wasnt until after mimi left that i have finally sat down to edit some footage of mimi at ballet. mimi had to miss her ballet recital because she would be at Disney. so her teacher was kind enough to put on a mini production for me so i could see mimi dance in her costume during her regular class time (they have ballet class right after school in the preschool library...that explains the bookshelves). so ozzy and i went with video camera in hand. i tried to edit out th...

A Message From Mimi

last night i came home to this message on the answering machine from mimi. i was out having dinner with friends so i missed her call. it made me want to cry. it was very late at night when i got the message so i didnt get a chance to call her back that night. but i got to speak to her this morning as they were on the bus headed to epcot center and she told me she bought me a beautiful necklace with a letter S on it. the S is for Sang. so everytime i see the S, i'll know it was a necklace just for me. this is the longest we have been apart...i'm really missing her a lot. (sometimes it is hard to understand mimi when she's on the phone, so here's the translation: hi mommy. ummm i miss you. i wish i could talk to you but are you home? or what are you doing? feeding ozzy? milk? or no? bye .)

Flowergirl

Mimi was one of the flowergirls at my cousin jean's wedding about 2 weeks ago. she did quite well walking down the aisle and standing still up front through out the ceremony (i had my doubts!). she really enjoyed the wedding reception afterwards, literally dancing all night long and chatting up everyone. ozzy spent most of the evening pushing the stroller around...this was just days before he suddenly starting fully walking by himself. while at the rehearsal dinner, he pushed his 6 month old cousin, jacob, around in his stroller...it was quite comical to see a 9 month old pushing a 6 month old around in a stroller. sometimes, he'd stop pushing, walk around to the front of the stroller, to where jacob's toes were hanging out and would gum on a toe, then go back around to the back of the stroller and keep pushing baby jacob around. here's some more photos from the wedding taken by the wedding photographer (there's over 1,000 photos, so probably best to view the g...

The Beginning of the End

this morning, after i came home from dropping mimi off at school, my mom (who is in town to help out with the kids so i can work on my project du jour) informed me that ozzy walked...TWICE on his own. and not just the one or two steps he's been doing for the past couple of weeks, but really walking around and that Rob bore witness. all day, thereafter she tried to get him to walk for me, but he would just cling to me. then Rob came home from work and there was ozzy just strolling around.
