it's the WAY she has about her that makes me laugh. mimi's antics keep me rolling pretty much all day.
mimi and i were doing some prenatal yoga today (thru out which she kept insisting she didnt like this kind of yoga because it's too slow...let's do something fast!). the instructor said "as you rock your body, you are rocking your baby too." and mimi jumps in my face, grabbing her belly, and says excitedly, "mama, i'm rocking my baby as i rock my body too!" it's just so random the things she says.
after a failed attempt at a yoga session (we ended early, she lost interest and wanted a popsicle because 'yoga makes me hot.' so i had to make the kid something to eat instead of a popsicle.) i flipped the t.v. back to cable and there was a movie called The Cleaner with Lucy Lui and Cedric the Entertainer (he plays a custodian with amnesia who thinks he's a spy). mimi was transfixed by this movie. so we watched it for a while. it was a goofy movie, but she was really getting into it, covering her face when the bad guys started to chase the good guys. after the big fight scene mimi says, mom, let's fight. and she makes this face...i can't even describe...i guess it's supposed to be fierce and angry, but it was just really comical to me. i told her that real people shouldnt fight like that and we use words to talk about problems. and mimi says, but we're just pretending. so we did a little pretend where mostly i tickled her and she grunted and growled like the guys on t.v. during a fight, pitching her body here and there, and finally she shuts her eyes and hangs limp. and i realize she is now playing dead b/c that's what happens to all the bad guys after the fighting.
i can't even recount all of her funny ways. like today, she sat there reading my book "How Kids Fail" a book which takes a critical look at our education system. she sat there just making up her own story and pretending, every now and then, like she'd hit a word she couldnt read (hmm what's that word? oh yeah...).
she's so much fun. i will really miss this age. i can't believe she'll be four in two weeks!
