the other day, i see mimi purposefully take out her basket of playdough tools and some old fondant that i added to her basket for her to play with since i didnt need to use them for any cakes any time soon. she sits working intently for a while and i keep on going about my day. a few minutes later mimi approaches me and says, mommy, i made a cake for you! blow out the candles! and sure enough, she had used the fondant to create a cake... looks like we have a cake decorator in our midst!

not sure if she is trying to tell me something but the other day, she hugs me (well one of my legs since that's what she can reach) and she declares: " I love my best Huge Mommy!"
a few nights prior to that, as we were hurrying up the stairs to get to bed, she says to me, "Come on Cow!"

while watching t.v. the other day, mimi was busily setting up blankets on the floor in an elaborate slumber party for herself and a few select toy friends while Noggin channel played on in the background. Moose A. Moose, the host was asking the kids watching t.v. what is your favorite animal? without breaking her stride, she continues setting up the blankets and yells out over her shoulder at the t.v., "Oh, just my pet rock." (what the....?)

my mom calls one day to check up on how i am feeling and of course she wants to have a chance to chat with mimi. she gets mimi on the phone and asks her the usual questions and then says, what's mommy doing now? and mimi says, "oh mommy is just sitting on the couch with the baby." as if the baby could be anywhere else except with me sitting on the couch!
