mimi's ever expanding vocabulary has her using words she doesnt know the meaning of very well or else misusing words. she told me one day when she was feeling nervous that she felt 'invisible', then she goes, 'wait, what does invisible mean!' she has also been trying to use the word 'fucking' and the funny thing about that is she is knows how to use it correctly. of course i dont condone that sort of language, at least not from a four year old, so i have been trying to get her to stop saying that.
she still singing christmas carols even though it is weeks past christmas. i've been enjoying it because she occasionally gets the words wrong. like Deck the Halls, she says "Don we now our gray apparel" and Rudolf (not pronounced roo-dolf, but rather, rude-off) ...then one froggy christmas eve. she is also getting better at playing Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells on the piano. she is learning to play the notes with both hands at the same time.
mimi's answer to everything: me: i can't find goody bags for boys. mimi: you should look online at www.boygoodybags.com. mimi: what's a shield bug look like? me: i'm not sure. mimi: i have an idea. let's go look on www.shieldbugs.com
mimi helps with the pacy: these past few nights i have been very busy working on a cake. i was moaning about having to fun upstairs several times a night to put the pacy back in ozzy's mouth when he fusses in his sleep. the other night mimi asked if she could sleep next to ozzy (in my bed). i tell her that is fine but please dont wake him. she said to me, i'll sleep next to ozzy and if he wakes up in the night for his pacy, i'll put it in his mouth for you, so you can keep working on the cake, okay mom?
i watched her on the infant monitor while i was working on the cake in the kitchen and i could see her laying next to ozzy, and periodically her hand would reach over in the dark to touch ozzy's mouth to make sure the pacy was where it needed to be. she was doing this so often that she wasnt getting any sleep herself. so i yelled up at her to go to bed.
