i've been taking some time to teach mimi and kaya to walk together on a leash. i want kaya to learn to walk right next to mimi without pulling on the leash. i have the remote collar on her and mimi holds the leash and i've instructed her to release the leash if kaya happens to pull b/c i dont want mimi to get dragged down the road if that should happen. mostly kaya has been very good, walking slowly next to mimi.
as we were walking down the street, practicing, mimi says, "mama, i'm the dog whisperer. i'm like cesar milan" (except she calls him cesar 'mulan' like the chinese title heroine).
kaya is really quite well behaved when we're out and about. there are lots of other dogs in our neighborhood that bark a lot, pull on their leashes and will 'buck' at kaya when they see her. kaya remains mostly calm, and looks to me and stays focused on her tennis ball, ignoring the other dogs excited actions. mimi views it all and will say to me, 'mama, why is that dog acting to crazy?" or "mama, why is that dog barking so much?" and then says, "my dog is good."

the other day mimi said she wanted a smoothie, so i made her a blueberry smoothie. i dont know how she managed to get it all over her face like this from just drinking it from a straw, but it's even up in her eyebrows! oy vey!
