a few days ago, our area got hit with some snow that caused a few complications: power outage, slippery road conditions, fallen trees, etc. it closed school for three days. i had made the mistake of washing a load of laundry while the storm ensued, and then the power went down before the final spin cycle. as i hunched over the bathtub, hand wringing the water from clothes and hanging them on every available rail in the house, i channeled my inner pioneer woman.
